On Tuesday, March 15 the webinar “Gene Expression Analysis Using 3’-RNA Sequencing” took place. This was a great success. We had 583 attendees registered.
Dr. Behnam Abasht from the University of Delaware had a 50 minutes talk and multiple questions afterwards. It was a pleasure to observe how much interest 3’ mRNA-Seq currently has.
3’ mRNA-Seq allowed Dr. Abasht to perform gene expression studies at population level in an extremely cost efficient manner. The correlation of the log10(fold-change) for gene expression data obtained with a standard RNA-Seq and 3’ mRNA-Seq was 0.90. Moreover, with this method he could also verify the current gene model annotations and perform global characterization of alternative polyadenylation. Dr. Abasht used QuantSeq 3’ mRNA-Seq Library Prep Kit developed by Lexogen, which is the only protocol available on the market for this application.
If you want to know more about this talk, but missed an opportunity to attend the live stream you can watch the webinar recording online already now.
