In this edition, meet David, our Manufacturing Scientist; Tomas, our Bioinformatics Magician; and our extraordinary Technical Consultants for the DACH Region, Hajar and Wafa!
Interview 1:
Introducing David Aminger, MSc – Manufacturing Scientist at Lexogen
Meet David, our Manufacturing Scientist at Lexogen, marking his 5-year anniversary with us. David graduated in Molecular Systems Biology from the University of Vienna, specializing in Evolutionary Developmental biology. His role involves bridging R&D and Production, ensuring a smooth transfer of technology and data for new product development. David creates detailed instructions and checklists for mixing buffers, dispensing solutions, and the final configuration of Lexogen products. He likes the dynamic aspects of his job. “I enjoy the best of both worlds—working with various departments and having the chance to do hands-on work in the lab,” says David. The collaborative atmosphere at Lexogen, particularly within the Production team, is a highlight for him, making every day unique. “Working here brings so much variety, even after 5 years, there are few routine days”, adds David, encapsulating the dynamic and fulfilling nature of his role at Lexogen.

Introducing Chem. Eng. Wafa Soussi – Technical Consultant DACH at Lexogen
Meet Wafa! As our Technical Consultant for the DACH area, Wafa brings a wealth of experience and a passion for making a difference. Here’s what she had to share: “I’m a chemical engineer who thrives on innovation. I’ve spent considerable time in research and development across various fields. This journey made me realize that I aspire to bridge scientific innovation with impactful solutions for humanity. In pursuit of this goal, I sought a consulting and sales role, and that led me to Lexogen. I now understand that I was missing the fulfillment that comes from engaging with people. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity as it aligns perfectly with what I’ve been searching for.”

Introducing Tomas Drozd, MSc – Bioinformatics at Lexogen
Meet Tomas, our Bioinformatics magician, sharing his journey at Lexogen: “I studied at Brno University of Technology and discovered a double degree program in Vienna. Back then i was still not 100% sure what to do about my Master Thesis. We had lectures in University and one of the professors knew Lexogen already, calling it a startup with great potential. Thanks to him i got to know Lexogen and applied for an internship position here in 2018, which led to a Master Student position. The special thing about Lexogen for me is its open atmosphere; our CEO drops in to say hello, which is unusual in the corporate world. I always feel supported in finding solutions here. Everyone is helpful and open minded and approachable. We do have some tasks that are a bit of a routine, but we also have customer projects – where there is always an element of surprise.”

Introducing M.Sc. Hajar Benredjem – Technical Consultant DACH at Lexogen
Meet Hajar, our Technical Consultant for the DACH region – “What really ticked my curiosity during high school was Biology. It’s interesting to study animals and plants, but for me personally what i always found to be mysterious was human biology. That’s exactly why i decided to go into that.” With a background in oncology research and a passion for science, Hajar found her perfect fit at Lexogen. She values the diverse and international environment and enjoys combining her RNA expertise with interacting with people in the Sales Department.
